The independent report by Charles Beer that was “undertaken as a requirement under the AODA legislation” included the recommendation that Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committees (MAAC’s) continue to exist and that “municipalities ensure that their accessibility advisory committees are appropriately utilized and seen as important resources in making communities more accessible.“
At the LTC meeting this month, GM Larry Ducharme referred to a conflict that apparently exists between the London Accessibility Advisory Committee and the London Transit Commission, the fact that the LTC has an advisory committee of its own, and that London’s City Clerk is “re-drafting” all of the City advisory committees.
