A London Police Service media release:
As students return to city elementary and secondary schools, the university and colleges, police will be keeping a close watch on all road uses and those with failing grades will be ticketed.
Each year at this time officers keep an eye on school areas to ensure that returning students are safe as they walk and bike their way back to the classrooms. Inattentive and aggressive drivers who jeopardize other road users in school areas will find themselves delayed on their way and likely on the receiving end of a ticket.
Areas of concern are motorist who disobey crossing guards and school bus flashing lights.
Everyone has a responsibility to strive for road safety. Students need to cross streets safely, cyclists need to bike safely and motorists need to care for those vulnerable individuals.
Let’s be cooperative road users and get a passing grade as we start the new school year!
