London Police advise that “a male who was involved in a shooting death at the Pacific Mall in the Town of Markham in 2009…was arrested in London on September 1st by London Police.”

Investigators working out of the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have charged the suspect who was previously wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man at the Pacific Mall in the Town of Markham in 2009.
On Wednesday, September 1, 2010, Bryan Valentine GARDNER, 21, of Toronto was arrested in London, Ontario by members of the London Police Service on the strength of an outstanding warrant and returned to York Region where he now faces the charge of First Degree Murder.
On Friday, February 20, 2009, at approximately 8:45 p.m., York Regional Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the XSITE Cell Phones store located in the Pacific Mall at 4300 Steeles Avenue East in the Town of Markham for a weapons call. Officers located the victim on the floor of XSITE with gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination conducted on the victim revealed that he died of a single gunshot wound to the head. Investigators obtained a Canada Wide Warrant for his arrest in connection with the February 2009 shooting death of Chun Kit (Daniel) CHEONG, 26, of Toronto.
